It’s Never Too Late To Have A Healthier Mouth

Restoring oral health at your local Bedford dentist.

We were recently looking at some of our latest Google reviews, which we are always delighted to receive by the way. What struck us was the number of patients who had commented upon the friendliness and professionalism of the team at The Dental Centre Bedford. Of course, this is something that we offer quite naturally, and we always do our best to make patients feel as comfortable and relaxed as we can,  but it is always nice to see our efforts rewarded and we would like to thank anyone who has left us a nice review there.

One particular review stood out though, not because of what they had said about us particularly, but how the person had been concerned that their historical neglect of personal oral health might lead to a ‘lecture’ by the dentist when they first joined us.

Patients first

This gives us an excellent opportunity to address the worries of anyone who has neglected their teeth and gums and feels embarrassed, possibly causing them to avoid the dentist altogether. At The Dental Centre Bedford, all of our dental team are highly trained and experienced professionals who have seen all types of dental problems and will not judge you for it. Our purpose is not to ‘lecture’ you, but guide you gently back onto the path of healthy teeth and gums.

Yes, it is true that some problems, such as severe gum disease, can be quite challenging, but nothing gives us more pleasure than to treat someone with this condition and restore their gums to better health.

Treatments available

If you live in Bedfordshire and are one of these patients, perhaps hoping that your dental problems will mysteriously vanish (they won’t!), please don’t put off visiting any longer. There are now many excellent solutions to almost any oral health problem that you may have and you no longer have to live with discomfort and embarrassment.

The most important step is to deal with any immediate problems such as gum disease or tooth decay. Decay can usually be treated with a dental filling, or a crown where the damage is more extensive. Where the damage is too extensive and a tooth needs to be extracted, we offer dental implants which are an excellent and long lasting replacement option.

Very often, patients who have neglected their oral health will have some degree of gum disease. Whilst advanced gum disease may need more extensive, prolonged treatment such as root planing, many people can reverse or at least control their gum problems through regular visits to our dental hygienist along with improved personal care.

In addition to cleaning your teeth thoroughly to remove hardened bacteria and deposits (tartar) from them, our hygienists will also offer advice on how to improve the way that you look after your teeth and gums at home. They will also be pleased to answer any questions that you might have regarding your oral health.

To take the first step to a healthier mouth, simply contact The Dental Centre Bedford on 01234 819868 to arrange an initial appointment. We can then put a treatment plan into place following your examination. We are currently taking on new patients and look forward to meeting you. We are sure that you will find our team to be as friendly and professional as our reviews suggest!
